Careers Education Information and Guidance
We take pride in our outstanding careers and university support in the sixth form. The support and process students go through in sixth form we refer to as the Beyond 18 journey. This relates to the steps that a student will take to get ready for university or the world of work during their time with us. Students can expect to attend conferences, trips, open days, experience work shadowing and receive personalised support with any applications they make. This support will begin from day one in year 12 and continue until their final results day.

Career Advice
When students join the Sixth Form they will work closely with the Sixth Form Team. Ms Wheaton and Mrs Curling, Sixth Form Directors, Mr Warry, Assistant Director of Sixth Form, Ms Sellears, Sixth Form Administrator, Mrs Parton, Sixth Form Study Supervisor and Mrs Mason, Careers Advisor.
Students will also receive support from the sixth form tutors to discuss all their possible options after Year 13. We have an excellent record of ensuring our students secure Post 18 University and Apprenticeship placements.
At Roding Valley we have our own dedicated Careers Advisor. Mrs Mason is Level 6 Qualified, a member of the CDI Professional Body and on the National Careers Advisors register.

Our Careers Room, is open daily from 8.15am – 4.15pm, Monday – Wednesday. We run an ‘open door’ policy for our Careers Room, so (unless there is an interview in progress) students can come in to the Careers Room at any point and look through our resources or speak to Mrs Mason. Students and Parents can also make an appointment in person or via e-mail.
