Photography – Key Stage 4
This is a two year course which explores both traditional film photography and digital photography. Students will have access to the darkroom and laptops to complete their work although they are required to have their own digital camera. We use the AQA exam board where students are required to submit two coursework projects (worth 60% of their final grade) and one exam project (worth 40%). Coursework projects are based around the themes of ‘Natural Forms’ and ‘Weird & Wonderful’. The themes for the exam project are set by the exam board each year. To succeed in this course, students must be independent and organised. We have achieved 100% A*-C passes for the past 4 consecutive years. Many students choose to continue their photographic studies after their GCSE in our sixth form.
